    Not a regular Israel-Palestine article.

With social media, our world is more connected than ever before. This means opinions flow fast, knowing no borders. But when foreigners start to mingle in a country’s sensitive issues without micro and macro context, it only adds to unsolicited sensationalism rather than a solution. Most of the time, people out of the border don’t even consider the solution or have an interest in knowing the micro and macro context of the issue. They simply want to share their two cents in the middle of trending hashtags, all to just getting social media recognition in return. Unfortunately, it’s a behavior social media platforms tend to bring out in users time and again.

Why do we want to colonize Mars when the Moon is closer?

It's been more than half a century since man took that one Giant Leap. In the twenty-first century, not only countries and space agencies but billionaires too want to explore space. In fact, Elon Musk wants humans to live on Mars. NASA and CNSA too are working on sending an astronaut to Mars, not the moon but the red planet which is 10x farther from Earth. This, despite former President Donald Trump signaling at another lunar mission.

Miss small talk at work? This article is for you.

Roughly a year and a half ago, before the novel coronavirus crossed borders from the city of Wuhan in China, getting to work on time was a thing. Some dreaded it too. And, before we started off our day, small talk was a daily workplace ritual for most of us. We exchanged hellos and swapped stories of previous evenings with colleagues in lifts, cafeterias, or while just our computers would boot. Though these encounters probably lasted only minutes, at the time we didn’t really understand its importance. But, now sociologists have uncovered the impact of the lack of small talk while we work from home.

    Glamour-free vs Glamour-hungry humanitarian work.

Capitalist, rich nations of the west have been long accustomed to philanthropy due to the excessive wealth some accumulate over time. Today, regardless of the political ideology of a nation, people look up to the wealthiest in their society with an expectation and, often judge millionaires based on their philanthropic work.

Do Covidiots also have the right to criticize a government?

Everyone on social media is righteous, well-informed, and opinionated regardless of their real-life actuality. Thus, obviously, everyone earns the right to criticize whoever they repulsively dislike. But, we all would agree there is a good difference between a mask we don on social media and our real self. Since last year, we all have witnessed around us as well as on news, how covidiots have argued and even gotten in fights to defend their ignorant beliefs. For people who consciously take all precautions, behavior from covidiots is deeply concerning. But, does such behavior also takes away the right to criticize the government? After all, as a citizen of a democratic country - no matter how wrong their actions may be, all are guaranteed of their basic rights which includes criticism and/or dissent.

What if China produces a sequel to Contagion?

After numerous mentions of this movie in the last year, I finally watched Contagion for the first time last weekend. It was eerily relevant, like a prophecy. The research, as well as an element of realism and honesty of the movie, will make people look back to it as an apt bookmark in history. And then, a scarier scenario crossed my mind that night. What if China produced a sequel to this movie? Not in China, but via Hollywood.

    Pandemic and the Quartz crisis

There is absolutely no difference in how a luxury watch and an inexpensive watch tells time, in fact, you may need to wind a luxury watch every 3 days to keep it powered. Despite this fact, do we aspire to own a Rolex or a battery-powered Timex? Our answer to this rhetorical question has roots in the grim events that unfolded back in the 1970s. A pandemic of sorts for the Swiss watch industry.
